DEFRA are the UK government department responsible for safeguarding our natural environment, supporting our world-leading food and farming industry, and sustaining a thriving rural economy. Their broad remit means they play a major role in people’s day-to-day life, from the food we eat, and the air we breathe, to the water we drink.
To achieve DEFRA approval, EndoSanTM was required to pass efficacy testing carried out by DEFRA approved laboratories. The results of the stringent testing meant that EndoSanTM gained approval for effective use against Foot and Mouth disease virus (FMDV) and General Orders.
General Orders approval relates to the Animal Health Act 1981 and means that EndoSanTM can be used for the cleansing and disinfection of places used for the holding of markets, fairs, exhibitions or sales of animals or yards, sheds, stables, vessels, aircraft, vehicles, pens, etc. Also included is the use of EndoSanTM under the European Communities Act which means EndoSanTM use complies fully with animal disease control legislation that requires the use of an approved disinfectant.
In the event of an outbreak of a notifiable animal or zoonotic disease, only DEFRA approved disinfectants can be used for cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces like buildings, farm equipment, crates, and vehicles. The power of EndoSanTM is now approved to make a difference in these situations.
EndoSanTM is the approved UK and Ireland brand name for Huwasan technology, EndoSanTM appears on the register of approved disinfectants for use in England, Scotland and Wales under the Huwasan brand name.
